Move over heroines, this New Year Eve belongs to the item girls. That’s right folks. Come December 31, and in all likelihood you will see the famous ‘item number’ experts take centre stage. And for those few who don’t know - recently Katrina Kaif refused a big sum of 6 crore to perform on the Eve night – there are the one timers who would perform for them. So in the race besides the seasoned performer like Mallika Sherawat, and Maliaka Arora Khan, are names like Anushka Sharma and Jacqueline Fernandez.

The interesting bit is that common song list. Besides item boy Ranveer Singh who has his own set of numbers to perform on, most of the actresses will be performing either on ‘Chammak Challo’, ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ or ‘Chikni Chameli’ besides their own ‘items’. In fact such is the lure of item numbers these days that it’s also on the New Year wish list of some of the actresses, including Neha Dhupia. Says the ‘Pappu Can’t Dance Saala’ actress, “For the next year I wish I can do more and more item numbers.”

After all, to translate a Hindi saying, what’s seen, sells best. And with item numbers that’s exactly the case.
