When ‘Players’ tanked at the box office, it took with it some actors and their already slipping careers. But the most affected from the disaster was Neil Nitin Mukesh who played the role of a Spider, a hacker. Such was the effect that Neil, who was initially signed up for the sequel of ‘Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster’ was dropped from the project. Incidentally, the twist came a few days after the actor had thrillingly announced that he was a part of the sequel and showered praises on the director, Tigmanshu Dhulia. He had said and we quote, “I think Tigmanshu is one of the finest directors in Bollywood and I am looking forward to working with him. I am looking forward to the film.”
Irrfan Khan is the actor who replaced Neil in the sequel, which will also have the cast of the original – Jimmy Shergill, Mahie Gill and Randeep Hooda – playing important characters. The news while expected took the ‘Jail’ actor by surprise.
