The nomination of ace cricketer Sachin Tendulkar to the Rajya Sabha has garnered mixed reactions. There are those who think that Sachin’s clean image makes him the perfect choice for the role, while others believe that with an active cricketing career, Sachin cannot do justice to the role. Sanjay Dutt has a different take. He is worried Sachin’s cricket will suffer as a result. “I am one of those billions of fans of Sachin Tendulkar who would like to see him wear his pads, walk on the pitch, stand there, and score a century. I don’t want his career to be over sitting in Parliament. I want to see him on the pitch, I just can’t see him in Parliament,” says Sanjay Dutt.
