‘Bollywood is not my calling’

It’s still too early to decide if Nargis Fakhri is a one-film wonder. Circumstances have conspired to thwart her plans for what would have been her second film ‘Khiladi 786′ and there has been no news of any new films signed thereafter. “Bollywood is not my calling. I am just going to stick around and wait to see where it goes. I will go where God and the universe will lead me to. Maybe there is something else for me. Everyone has something special; maybe I haven’t found that special talent of mine. It could be acting, but at the moment I am just going with the flow,” says a philosophical Miss Fakhri.

She reveals, “I was flung into Bollywood, picked up, and brought into this new space. I was happily travelling and living my life. Someone told me ‘I have a story for you.’ I found the tale so interesting that I was ready to give up everything for it. It was a life altering experience. In some special way I will survive in the industry. For now, I am just adjusting, but it will take time. However, I am happy with the way things are right now.”

Although she has only been seen in one film to date, she has been linked with more than one man ever since her debut. But Nargis apparently hasn’t found her Mr Right, and she admits, “I am not looking for someone who will be tall, dark and handsome but a man with a good soul. For me, personality is the most sexy thing.”

While we are still undecided if Nargis’ personality is sexy, simply because we don’t know her well enough, we can attest to the fact that her figure is definitely sexy. “I hate to diet, but believe in healthy living and good choices. I don’t follow any specific fitness mantra. I am very moody and do as I feel. At a particular moment, I might feel like running or swimming and at times I feel lazy. Life is such that it is difficult to maintain a routine. I was a vegetarian for six months but I love non-vegetarian food as well. I love green vegetables like spinach and broccoli. I believe in eating healthy food, but at the same time I love chocolates, brownies and ice-creams. I am not really obsessed with fitness as I know my body well. Fitness comes and goes, and I lose those extra pounds whenever necessary. I don’t stress about anything,” she claims.

Being a part of Bollywood, Nargis says she always needs to be well dressed but she is most comfortable in casuals. She says, “I love wearing sweatpants, t-shirts and sneakers. I like pairing it up with accessories like sunglasses, heels and earrings. I love staying simple and just being myself.”
