Initially, Aamir Khan was set to play the lead in Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Bombay Velvet’. However, that plan did not materialize. We are now told that ‘Rockstar’ Ranbir Kapoor will be playing the lead in this film. Apparently, Ranveer Singh who stars in ‘Lootera’, produced by Anurag had been lobbying for the role and was a serious candidate until Ranbir called up Anurag and expressed a desire to work with him in the film. Unable to decide, Anurag asked his producers to pick and they chose Ranbir on the basis that he was the bigger and more bankable star. Hopefully, Ranveer and Anurag will work together again in some other film.
