The BCCI’s announcement of the resumption of cricket ties between India and Pakistan has had a mixed response across the country and Bollywood too has been drawn into the discussion. Pakistani actress Veena Malik, who acts in Indian films, described it as a dream come true. Pakistani singer and actor Ali Zafar retweeted a post by Imran Khan that described it as a welcome decision. However, like Sunil Gavaskar, South Indian actor Siddharth, of ‘Rang De Basanti’ fame, is not happy with decision. He tweeted, “I’m not so sure it’s possible to let sport be just sport with them anymore! I’m not going to a stadium to see these games. I think it’s unsafe, irresponsible and disrespectful.”
